Game Reviews

Weird West Review
Weird West explores a supernatural version of the American frontier through a series of interconnected character stories. Each chapter introduces a new protagonist whose decisions influence the world and the events that follow. Combat, exploration, and player choice all play a role in shaping how the story unfolds. The game blends action with systemic interactions, encouraging players to experiment with different approaches while navigating its strange western setting. While some elements of the experience are more polished than others, the game’s unusual structure and reactive design create a distinctive adventure that stands apart from more traditional action RPGs.

Rogue Waters Review
Rogue Waters is a turn-based tactical roguelite built around naval battles, boarding combat, crew management, and repeated pirate expeditions. Different crew classes bring distinct abilities to fights, while environmental attacks and ship upgrades add extra layers to the tactical systems. The pirate presentation, music, and character animations give the game a clear identity, and building a strong crew can be genuinely satisfying. Its structure is easy to understand, but the experience depends heavily on how much the player enjoys repeating runs, refining a crew, and gradually improving between missions.

Borderlands 4 Review
Borderlands 4 refines the familiar looter-shooter formula with smoother systems, engaging combat, and a large amount of content to explore. Quality-of-life improvements streamline farming, progression, and overall usability, making the experience feel more modern than earlier entries. Side missions often capture the humour and creativity the series is known for, helping maintain momentum throughout the campaign. Visually, the game presents a vibrant and polished world supported by strong audio design and detailed environments. However, some technical issues and uneven late-game balance prevent the experience from feeling fully polished.

BLACKTAIL Review
BLACKTAIL is a dark fairy-tale action-adventure built around archery, exploration, morality choices, and a strange retelling of the Baba Yaga legend. Its writing, voice acting, unusual characters, and morality system give the game a strong identity, especially when seemingly simple choices have unexpected consequences. The experience is much less consistent mechanically, with slow combat, awkward platforming, uneven boss encounters, and visuals that often feel older than the game itself. What keeps BLACKTAIL interesting is its world and story, even when the gameplay surrounding them struggles to keep up.

Chants of Sennaar Review
Chants of Sennaar presents a rare and ambitious puzzle concept built around deciphering unfamiliar languages through observation and logic. Its early hours deliver a strong sense of discovery, encouraging players to piece together meaning at their own pace. With a distinctive visual style and a thoughtful central mechanic, it offers an experience that feels both creative and intellectually engaging.

Hollow Knight: Silksong Review
Hollow Knight: Silksong pushes precision and aggression to the forefront, delivering a fast, demanding action-platformer that rewards confident execution and thoughtful restraint. With tightly constructed encounters, distinct biomes, and systems that reinforce mechanical clarity, it builds tension through mastery rather than excess. This is a game that respects player intent, challenges decisiveness, and leaves a lasting impression long after you put the controller down.
